When we come here we seem to be helpless babies yet to discover what the world is about. It may appear that we incarnate as a blank slate as philosopher John Locke theorized, waiting to be etched upon through experience. Surely our experiences reveal, develop and highlight our gifts, but we come here infused with what we have to share with the planet, just as surely as we are given a heartbeat. The good news is that we are not expected to blindly venture out and discern who we are and what we are here to do all for ourselves without support. We are guided with great love from God and a communication system so advanced it requires no wires or equipment. Your definition of God may differ from mine but that is not important in understanding your guidance system. Simply put, we arrive here with all we need to live our purpose. We have our gifts and abilities that are packed in our spiritual suitcase just as surely as our DNA is infused in every cell of our body. And just as real as our digestive system and circulatory system we have an energy system to help us check in with our spiritual and physical health. When we are born, the greatest tool we come fully equipped with, is our connection to the divine, to God. This connection, in the form of our Divine guidance, is a constantly available source of information and feedback, a sort of inner counsel. If we seek guidance or even allow guidance we will always be connected to our source, the Divine. In addition we will be supported as we seek to live our purpose, make decisions, heal, and thrive. Blocking the guidance, ignoring the guidance and closing yourself off from Divine guidance has consequences. These consequences can take the form of physical illness, depression and an unfulfilled, dispassionate life. We may unwittingly ignore guidance because we think it is not really guidance, but rather the imaginings of our subconscious. Or perhaps we may feel we are not worthy of a connection to the divine, therefore we doubt from where our intuitions come. I think it is most often the case that we are open to hearing guidance but we are not so sure what it looks and sounds like or we know we will have to act on it if we acknowledge it. That can be a scary notion in some situations. So, what does Divine guidance look and sound like? Most often we are guided through even the simplest of things. Recognize that using the divine guidance fully available to you is to use a tool of immeasurable value that can change your entire existence and re-route your entire life! Your Divine guidance could be: · The sudden urge you get to turn left, taking an alternate way home. · The recurring push you feel to write that book · The draw you feel to move to a city · The nagging feeling you have that it is time to end a relationship · That business you want to begin or property you want to buy or sell · The recurring dream you have been having · The inspiration for an invention that you are sure you must create! · The seemingly random thought to call an old friend · The song you keep singing and cannot get out of your head
Your guidance is not just the wishing of your subconscious mind; it is a divine nudging! So many coaching relationships start with clients stating they know they are unhappy but are clueless as to what they must do to bring their joy back. These people sincerely have no idea what they want to do, who they want to be with, what their gifts and skills are, or what really makes them happy. They have shut themselves off from this guidance system and likely because they heard the guidance all along, but chose not to hear it for a myriad of reasons. Thankfully guidance is like a faucet, it is always possible to open it up and once again start the flow. When you pray for guidance on a particular issue and you really want it, you will begin to get the messages.
And then, when you get a hint, a nudge or an intuition about where your greatest happiness can be found, ACT ON THAT guidance. It does not take a monumental overthrow of your present life to begin the momentum toward the life you want to create. Pick one thing you can do to begin to walking toward what you want.
